From 1999-2000, Mr. Kim served as a patent attorney with the Central International Law Firm of Seoul, Korea. He is also the author of a book in Korea entitled Industrial Design Law (1st ed. 1999, 2nd ed. 2001). From 2000-2004, Mr. Kim served as a patent attorney with the Lee International IP and Law Group in Seoul, where he was appointed to the Chair of the Industrial Design Department. His areas of focus were the mechanical and semiconductor fields.

From 2004-2007, Mr. Kim attended Washington University School of Law, earning an L.L.M. in Intellectual Property and Technology Law, and a J.D. Mr. Kim is a member of the Missouri Bar.
