Doo-Kyu Kim

Mr. Kim brings extensive international legal and technical experience to Kang IP Law. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in Daejeon, Korea, in 1993. In 1999, he was certified by the International Patent Training Institute, and was admitted to the Korean Patent Bar. From 1999-2000, Mr. Kim served as a patent attorney with the Central International Law Firm of Seoul, Korea. He is also the author of a book in Korea titled Industrial Design Law (1st ed. 1999, 2nd ed. 2001). From 2000-2004, Mr. Kim served as a patent attorney with the Lee International IP and Law Group in Seoul, where he was appointed to the Chair of the Industrial Design Department. His areas of focus were the mechanical and semiconductor fields. From 2004-2007, Mr. Kim attended Washington University School of Law, earning an L.L.M. in Intellectual Property and Technology Law, as well as a J.D.  Mr. Kim is a member of the Missouri Bar.  Mr. Kim has experience with patent prosecution, counseling, and transactional work, as well as copyright and trademark law. He remains focused in the mechanical and electrical fields, with an emphasis on international issues.

Hayeon Chang

Ms. Chang brings a significant amount of international legal and technical experience to Kang IP Law.  She received her B.S. in Chemistry from Ewha University in Seoul, Korea.  In 2000, she was certified by the International Patent Training Institute, and was admitted to the Korean Patent Bar.  From 2000-2004, Ms. Chang served as a patent attorney with a major intellectual property firm in Seoul, Korea, where she prosecuted patent applications and litigated before the Patent Court and Supreme Court of Korea.  Ms. Chang also has corporate experience as a scientist with a major pharmaceutical corporation in Seoul, Korea.  Ms. Chang attended Washington University School of Law, earning an L.L.M. in Intellectual Property and Technology Law, as well as a J.D.  Ms. Chang is a member of the Missouri Bar.  Currently, she assists in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications and in the preparation of opinion letters.
